Hard sell tactics

There are certain sales reps who make their money by sofa-squatting.  They turn up at the home of somebody who is often getting on a bit, or otherwise vulnerable and they just sit there until the deal is signed.  Usually for something that the occupant doesn’t really need nor want.  Various consumer programs expose these people at regular intervals and horror stories exist, including those where the unwanted guest stayed several nights in the spare room, refusing to leave until the contract was signed.

Apparently this is Gordon Brown’s latest tactic.  So a little advice for the vulnerable, just don’t let him in if he calls for his cup of tea.  And call Trading Standards right away.
